Hello, I’m Dr. Scott Powers, and it’s a privilege to introduce myself as a dentist with a commitment to exceptional patient care and a deep-rooted family legacy in dentistry.
Educational Journey: I earned my DDS degree from the prestigious Indiana University School of Dentistry. My quest for excellence led me to complete a year-long General Practice Residency at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Building on this foundation, I pursued a year-long Fellowship in Implant Dentistry at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, further honing my expertise.
Years of Dedication: With 25 years of experience in the field, I’m proud to have dedicated 23 of those years to serving the Lyons community at Scott Powers Dentistry.
Awards and Achievements: I hold the distinction of being among the select dentists in Indiana who possess both Residency and Fellowship training in dental implants. My commitment to excellence extends to IV sedation, backed by hospital privileges. My training in sedation and dental implants gives me the unique advantage to handle complex dental problems all in one location with one doctor. These accomplishments enable me to provide advanced and comprehensive care to my patients.
Family Tradition and Small-Town Roots: My journey into dentistry was inspired by my grandfather, who practiced dentistry in Lyons, Indiana, starting in 1928. My father also contributed to the well-being of our community as a family doctor. Being part of a long-standing family legacy in healthcare drives my passion for serving the community of Lyons.
A Bond with Patients: The patients I serve in Lyons have become an extended part of my dental family. With a history of over 95 years of family dental and health care in this town, I understand the unique needs and concerns of the community, forging a deep connection with those I serve.
Favorite Part of the Job: What I cherish most about my role is the ability to restore not just smiles, but also self-confidence. Witnessing the transformation of my patients’ smiles and the positive impact it has on their lives brings me immense satisfaction.
Beyond Dentistry: In my free time, I delight in spending moments with my own family, exploring new places through travel, enjoying the outdoors through camping and gardening, and indulging my love for flying my own plane.
A Personal Note: As a happily married individual for 23 years, I’m blessed with a wonderful family, including two sons. It’s an honor to provide dental care to the Lyons community, and I’m committed to delivering the highest standard of care to each patient who walks through our doors.
